Below you will find some of our most frequently asked questions. Please contact us at anytime if you need more information.
Do I get my pets ashes back?
This is the one question people seem embarrassed to ask but don’t be, the answer is Yes. Providing your pets and only your pets ashes back is a responsibility we take very seriously. We provide an individual cremation service for your pet and from the moment your pet is collected to the time that their ashes are returned we have a strict identification system that has been developed over years of practice. This results in knowing that every pet in our care is returned home where they belong every time. As pet owners ourselves we understand how important it is to know that your pet is handle with dignity and respect our care.
How do I arrange collection of my pet?
If your pet passes away at home in the Mackay region please just gives us a call and we can organise to come and collect your pet from home.
Unfortunately we can not offer a home collection service for pets out side of our local area but please contact your vet or us and we can guide you through the process.
If your pet passes away at the vet surgery please just let them know you wish to use our services for your pets after care and they will handle the details for you.
There are a couple of our regional vets who will advise you to call us directly to arrange a cremation service – Moranbah Vet Surgery, Orchid Valley And Vets 2 You Whitsundays. They are still able to care for your pet until we can organise to bring them to us in Mackay.
I do understand that sometimes talking to us can be very difficult at this time – we are not offended if you choose to communicate by text or email.
How long does it before my pet comes home again?
With our service we allow at least 5 – 7 business days before your pet is ready to come home.
What if i want to scatter the Ashes?
Yes, you can most certainly scatter the ashes of your pet. You will need to select the Scattering Tin/Pouch option as our ceramic urns are sealed. The Timber Styles A and B can be opened if necessary and the Timber Style C Box can be left unsealed on request.
There are many reasons why people choose to cremate their pets.
Cremation provides a dignified farewell to a beloved family member and dear friend.
Some people choose to cremate their pet as they are renting or live in a small unit and are unable to bury them.
Others choose cremation so they can take their pet to a special place to either scatter their ashes or bury them.
Others just wish to keep their pets by their side.
Whatever reason you have we will endeavour to make this process as easy as possible for you and your family.
Can I be present at my pets cremation service?
Unfortunately at this time the Crematorium is not set up to receive visitors and we do not have the council approval, facilities or the public liability required to have this happen.
