Do you cremate any pets?
Yes, we are able to cremate the larger dogs - eg a large breed such as a St Bernard. And almost all animals up to 60 kilograms. Small pets such as cats, birds, mice, rats and Guinea Pigs are most certainly covered by our service.

Do you provide urns?
Yes we do. We have several styles and options available. Our Ceramic Urns are included in the price of the cremation. We do also have a selection timber urns and boxes that are covered in our Range of Urns section in this website.

How do I arrange for you to collect my pet?
All local vets in the Mackay, Airlie Beach, Proserpine, Sarina and Moranbah areas can make the arrangements for you. They have all our information including choice of urns, they can also arrange for us to pick up your pet from the vet's surgery. We can also pick up your pet direct from your home in the Mackay and Sarina areas. This can be done by arrangement by calling our hotline on 07 49593907.

How long does it take?
With our service we allow at least 7 to 10 days turnaround time from collection of pet to returning the ashes.

What if i want to scatter the Ashes?
Yes, you can most certainly scatter the ashes of your pet. All of our urns have removeable lids if you would prefer to scatter the ashes of your pet in it's favorite location.

What is Cremation?
Cremation is the process of reducing a body by exposing it to intense heat. Through high heat and evaporation the body is reduced to mineral form. What is left is known as "Ashes"; however the proper term for this is "Cremains". The cremains are then crushed into a semi-powdered form.

Where are you located?
We are located at 268 Griffiths Road Balnagowan.

Why Cremation?
Some people choose not to bury their pets as they may live in a unit or are renting, others simply find our range of vessels a beautiful way to keep the affection of their treasured family pet remembered forever. It is also the most environmentally friendly means of dealing with a deceased pet, providing you the owner with an eternal memento of your lives together which can help with the grieving process.

Will I get my pet's ashes back?
Yes, most definitely. As pet owners we understand how devoted people are to their pets and how important it is to have the peace of mind of knowing that your special family member has been treated respectfully throughout the process. All pets received by Mackay Pet Cremations are identified and rechecked throughout each step of the cremation process, resulting in the guaranteed return of your pet's cremains.
